This workshop is suitable for beginners and is a good starting point for anyone wanting to learn how to use this natural material for making animal sculptures – we will assist anyone who requires a little help to complete their boar.

This half-day workshop in plant propagation will look at the basics of propagating from seed and from softwood cuttings. You will learn a little botany that will help you to be more successful in rooting cuttings and understanding the different types of seeds, seed sowing tips and overcoming different types of dormancy in seeds.

After a light lunch of warming winter vegetable soup and home baked bread there will be a practical session where we will first demonstrate the techniques and then you will practice the practical work to develop the basic skills required to create a laid hedge. This practical session will also include a little tool maintenance and tool safety and will cover traditional and modern tools and materials used in hedge laying.
